YOUR VIEWS ...
We have had a lot of posts in the past relating to speeding cars especially along Church Street and Cumberford Hill. It's gone a little quiet of late (post-bag wise) - is this a sign that things have calmed down? Please share your views here....

We live on the south newington road, so we don't have an opinion on the speeding cars along church street and cumberford hill. We are however aware of the speed of the traffic entering and leaving bloxham.I wonder how many vehicles would get caught if the speed camera in centre of bloxham was moved to the playing field on south newington road.
Thanks for your post and highlighting another area of concern. Maybe it's worth me compiling a 'hot spot' list on the front of the blog or on the website - what do you think?
Matt :-)
Hi Matt,
Many months ago I wrote regarding the speeding traffic along Milton Road. Things have not improved over the last six months if fact I feel things are even worse. It is now not only the speeding traffic but the volume of traffic. Reading the Banbury Guardian last week I note with interest that they have extended the 30MPH limit by a further 200m to accommodate the new housing development along Milton Road. If most of the drivers exceed the limit now moving the sign will make no difference at all. People think I exaggerate when I speak about the speed of cars: all I say is spend some time on Milton Road and you will be horrified at the speed of some cars and vans entering the village. An "accident waiting to happen" I think is the phrase these days.
David,
Milton Road, Bloxham.
No the speeding hasn't improved on Cumberford Hill! Since my last post on this website the following has occured:
1) Very near miss involving a child on a bike descending Cumberfod hill.
2) An elderly man knocked off his moped.
3) A parked car smashed into by a drunk driver descending the hill.
This is in addition to several other near misses and one near fatal accident back in January 07.
Please people - slow down!
I am a very careful driver and slow down to 30 in the village, even so the flashing sign by the school warns me to slow down. This runs the risk of being counter-productive as it is obviously set too low and so I now ignore it. Who is responsible for it and can it be re-calibrated, or whatever the term may be, to come on if you are doing 31mph or more AND NOT 30 OR LESS
